A native of the piney woods of deep east Texas with major big bass "factories" like Toledo Bend, Lake Fork and Sam Rayburn. The son of a bass fishing guide and complete outdoors fanatic! Both Dad & I had racked up all total, at least 25 bass over 10 lbs.with Dad's PB, a gigantic -caught, weighed on certified scales at 15.04 lbs- and my biggest a 14.02, both of which were quickly released back into where we caught them a couple hours prior. Dad is gone now and I have moved northward to the Ouachita Mountains and have switched from being a Trophy Bass specialist to fishing local "jackpot" tournaments and the MLF Phoenix BFL in the Arkie Division- making the regionals my 1st. year and being fortunate enough to win several club events, team tournaments (3+) and night fishing events on both Lake Hamilton and Lake Ouachita mainly- w/a couple of good finishes in the Husqvarna Benefit Tournament on Lake Greeson (Big Bass at 6.12 and a top 10). I'm just getting started! Getting the hang of catching these Arkansas Bass, which are wayyy tougher to catch than the big lugs I was used to catching down South in TX & La.has been a very rewarding challenge! I love Arkansas! It's beautiful and mainly wilderness, w/rivers filled with trout and lakes full of bass of several species. My wife Karen is semi retired & I retired from working corporate jobs to becoming a full time competitive angler 5 years ago. We plan on living out our dreams right here in the "Natural State"- making it a base to call home and traveling to wherever my tournament fishing takes us.
